Wanted used bike near NE Georgia

After attending the STRA round at Trackrock I decided I need to do the "sport". I have researched my options and I think a mid 90's Beta Techno or Gas Gas may work out for me as I want to keep my cost down while I figure this out. I would even consider an 86 Honda TRL 200 just cause they can be plated but I am afraid they may be too much of a pig compared to newer bikes. Let me know what you have. Post here (PM) or email me at aviles.carlos1@gmail.com Thanks!

Carlos,

Welcome - I hope you can find a bike and join us soon. I see there is a '97 GG posted by scrambleralan for $1400 elsewhere in the classifieds.

Hello again,

Is there such a thing as a 1999 Beta 300? I saw one advertised as such but all the info I find list 1999 Beta's as 250, 270 or 280 Beta Techno. Just trying hard to get a good running bike inside my budget before the next event.

Beta never produced a 300 2 stroke (or any 300 in 1999). They offer a 300 4T, but that was more like 2009.

Did you check out the 1996 Beta Techno in the classifieds? $1500 OBO in Huntsville. It looks clean in the photos - not the original muffler, but otherwise correct from what I can tell.

I did called on the 96 Beta but the owner has not been able to get it running. He is going to call me back if he gets it fixed. It looks fairly clean otherwise in the pics but I would like to buy something that is running and functional. My free time is limited as it is and I rather not spend it turning wrenches. Smile

hey carlos, i'm a long time stra member but have ridden in last 2 years due issues with my back. i have a '04 montesa 250r, last year of the 2stroke models, that needs someone to ride it. i hate to sell the bike, it's probably the best one i ever rode. the motor is smooth and strong. suspension and brakes work great. i would like $2800. if you are interested, give me a call 770-713-3296 thanks.....jeff

1 down 3 three to go. Today I paid Jeff a visit and checked and tested his nice '04 Cota 315. First "modern" trials bike I ride in quite a while and it felt very good. I have two more (Betas) lined up to test next w-end. Hopefully the right bike is one of these. Jeff, thanks for your time today.

Followed up on some advice and called the Trials Training Center about two weeks ago and they had taken in consignment an 01 Beta Rev 3 (the vin number decodes as a 2000 (Y in the 10th digit)). Is no were near perfect in the "cosmetics" department but appears to be a solid bike mechanically (IMHO).

In less than 100 yds I knew that the Beta was talking back to me. Regardless, I was encouraged by the guys at the TTC to try it out for a while and I spent almost an hour meandering around their great facility and I came back with a huge grin. Deal closed.....

Many thanks to Ashley, Charley and Alex of the TTC for their time, advice and patience.

Great many thanks to the fellow "trial riders" here for all the advice also. I will get right on it to check her out and service the maintenance items and do a nut and bolt as next week-end I plan on going out to my first event with the STRA near Atlanta. Wooohooooo!!!
