We will be having 2 Youth events at each of the next two events!
Saturday afternoon at 4 or so, and Sunday mornings at 9. This gives your child, Grandchild or neighborhood friend the opportunity to compete more. Remember, while there is no "work requirement" for year end youth Awards, only children who have entered at least three competitions are eligible for year end awards. We are working hard to make sure that we have something super special for the kids this year! Whenever I have a spare minute and there is someone around to help!
Usually the Trialsmaster's have at least the basics knocked out and I get to go in and do the details and steal the credit for their hard work! We can use all the help we can get. Will probably run the Youth Event at TTC with Checkers. If you would volunteer there, it will be a great help. Count on it. My son Richard checked a section at Dickson this weekend and did a great job so he can do a section too if need be. He said he really liked staying at one section and watching everybody ride through. He was really impressed (under statement) with what Curt can do on a BSA! I wish I had a video camera. It was worth the trip up there just to see him ride the 1 line.

While on the topic Al, how are the kids classes broken down basically? Is it strictly by age and where does ability come into play?

The Youth Nationals are done by age only, but I am guessing that you are referring to the STRA youth events held at each trial.
In the STRA trials we have Two Classes. A and B A is more difficult, it is somewhere just shy of novice. (unless I miss) Small logs and tight turns. Slight off cambers and hills. B is about the difficulty of the trail, generally turns and curves and reading the ribbons. Age does not play into the STRA Youth events, just ability level. You would fall under the part that say's Not ready to ride the novice line.
Well, actually, I guess then you would sign up at the sign up table. I suggest youth B for Brian. The turns are a bit wider Alan Bechard Clarksville,TN 931-551-8129 Home 931-801-7921 Cell, weekends and evening please. trialsalan@wmconnect.com |

I saw some really great looking training wheels the other day that mounted at the pegs on a JR50. I wonder if they make any for the Gas Gas?
