Brian, Camelot is fine with whatever you would like to do.

In general to everyone.

I would quit setting up individual websites, make it an extension of an existing site. We now have STRA, Trials Central, and Trials Comp.

I would suggest making it a subset of an existing site. I am confident that any of those three websites would be happy to assist you in setting up an "area" just for your messages etc. and for your promotions. I would suggest not spending the energy and resoursces to duplicate something that the framework already exists for. If you want to pay for something, help pay to enhance an existing site.

Just my 2 cents.

Jeff,

I have to agree with you on starting over. Without Bob's ok, you can't really do much without risking trouble. I remember our conversation at the TN Nats last year, and I guess it is time for a change.... Whatever is decided, I want to be involved. I like Alan's idea, but part of me still would like to have a separate site. The topic on another, more popular forum, may give greater exposure too, that wouldn't hurt. I'll keep an eye on this site or email me at: jknowles at bhgen dot com.

Vaya con Dios!

Judson, and everyone else...

I would very much be for starting this ministry over, as far as changing the name to free us up to produce shirts, jerseys and stickers, and some other things.

But like I have said, I don't want for Judson and I to do all this ourselves. We have had very, very little input on this subject, other than Brian and Alan's posts. I have had one other off the bulletin board. I'm waiting for an indication from the group, some of those 3,400 that have looked in on this thread. Brian has offered to do all the leg work as far as producing our merchandise, but I am hoping to get some ideas from the group as far as the name, and I would like to come up with a mission statement, and possibly a member list...

Christian Trials Riders
Trials for Jesus
Christian Trials Enthusiasts
Trials Families for Christ
Trials Riders for Christ
Team Jesus Trials

This re-birth might take a while, since our club has no competitions scheduled till August. I think that we may need to discuss some ideas when we gather in person.

For the time being, we can hold to what we have, while anticipating better things to come...kind of like being one of His children, right?

Friends in Christ,

This ministry has been very special to me and my family, and we would like to see it continue. So lets work together to make it happen for us and our families. I'm on the team, let me know how I can be of service.

Is anyone familiar with the Christian Motorcyclists Association? I am not, but I do go to church with a couple of their members. They seam well organized and have a web site: www.cmausa.org. There are probably others that I am not aware of. Do you know of any?

My thought is that it may be easier to associate with an existing organization, than to create a new one. What are your thoughts?

Hi Charlie.

I am a member of CMA. There are many organizations for Christian motorcyclists,
but CMA is probably the best known. Others include Tribe of Judah, Team Jesus,
Amazing Grace Motorcycle Ministry (www.amazinggrace-mm.org), etc.

I know of two organizations that were founded by former CMA members who apparently
tangled with red tape within the CMA structure. CMA mainly attracks cruisers and touring
riders but they have recently reached out to sport bike and motocross fans. I have been
a member since 1992. Now they have a glossy magazine and a nice website but I liked it
better when it wasn't so structured. The rulebook has grown as much as the organization.

Maybe it would be better to pattern the proposed group after a trials club instead
of a big international ministry like CMA? Perhaps leave the existing structure alone
and come up with another name for shirts and such? (I don't know much about TFC since
I've only been to a few events. Please pardon the lack of insight.)

Not to take a turn from the subject at hand but.... We had 3 faithful attend Sunday's TFC meeting at the Colorado nat'l. We had a lot of interest for out here in that 7 people came by to say hi from seeing the banner. That afternoon some happened that is a little odd, even for me. I had a gentleman come up and say he appreciates what I was doing out there. He went on to say he felt the "Spirit of the Lord" was about us the night before while I was talking to a new friend and brother in Christ. This guy said he felt the Lord's presence and knew we were believers without hearing us speak. He appologised for not making the devotion that morning and said he needed to say something to offer encouragement to me. Needless to say I feel encouraged, just when I thought maybe I wasn't doing right, starting to fill with self doubt and a host of other things that begin to cast a shadow on what and why am I doing this. I know we/I need to press on. To be faithful, to be there and stay the course. I guess it doesn't matter what name is chosen, so long as our presence, excuse me, His presense is known. We have about 4-6 events between now and August. I plan on attending all of them. Pray for us out here in the west!

Vaya con Dios!

How about TRiC; Trials Riders in Christ. As for a mission statement how about something simple; to spread the good news or such.

Jeff I appreciate all you do in this regard and I encourage you to and hope you will continue.

Many thanks to everyone who held Grady Yeargan in their prayers throughout his illness. He loved this group very much and our prayers encouraged him always. What a gift ... having people who love you, care about you, and have FUN with you ... PRAYING for you! Bless you,

I am grateful for the encouragement all of you speak. You are like a family to me.

I have decided to just keep on using the name Trials for Christ. I really don't expect Bob to get too concerned now that he has abandoned this ministry. I think we should go with our promotional materials based on the T.F.C. handle.

We will consider a name change if Bob issues a cease and desist letter.

Brian... when you read this, please contact me with any shirt ideas, and I do think we should change the logo, I think something a little more basic? Judson has some ideas too. Let's get something going!

Jeff,

I agree with keeping the name. (I didn't want to change my banner) Let me know when any merchandise is available. Jeff, I think I sent you a bumpersticker that I made up. I don't have the same resources now so if I think of anything, I'll send it in a different format.
What were your ideas for the logo Jeff?

Take care and God bless!

Vaya con Dios!

This past weekend we had 5 in attendance for the TFC devotion. That was out of 23 people at the event! That is almost 22% of the riders. It was at a Ryan Young school. I flew the banner kind of late Saturday but still we were truely blessed with a good time, no injuries and keeping the Lord's day Holy!

The summer slump, I suppose, Judson.

I will be at the T.T.C. this weekend for the Youth Nationals. As we did last year, the service will take place on Saturday night under the pavillion.

The subect will be Matthew, the 7th Chapter... hope to see some of you there!
I'll post a report next week. Be blessed, and stay in the way!

Judson, and all those interested...

The Service at the Youth Nationals was held at the Pavilion Sunday night at 7:00, and there were 37 in attendance. The group was very attentive, and I feel that the Service was well received, an excellent spirit was present.

I wish to thank Cathrine Bedley for assisting attendance by offering an ice cream social just before the Service. And also, thank you to Dan Brown for your support of the Trials for Christ Ministry.

As you pray, I sincirly hope that you include our military service personnel AND their families. Cathrine will be re-united with her son for a brief visit this coming Thursday, then he will be deployed to Afganistan. This family, as well as tens of thousands of others are affected by the world situation in many foriegn countries. Weather or not you agree with the administration's stand on military presence in distant lands, please remain prayerful of these soldiers, and their families and loved ones. I will go a step farther... if you want to be Christlike, and follow His teachings, pray for the enemy as well, that they will come to know the true God of heaven, and abandon the false teachings and cease following the Muslim doctrine.

May you and yours remain blessed, and be found faithful to Him. JEFF

We had a skeleton crew at the Service Sunday at Round 7 outside of Carrolton, Georgia. The Faithful numbered 14, and my grandson Trevor gave me the ultimate compliment, when he said, "Pop, that was the best preachin' you ever done so far!"

Thanks to those that took a few minutes to congregate, and listen to me ramble on. I'm grateful for your attendance, but God will bless you for it!

Hope to see more of y'all at the Shooting Creek venue next month!

I will post a thought here regarding the Katrina aftermath...

We, as Christians, should prayerful every day.

Think about this - If you came home from work every day, walked through the door, and plopped down in your favorite chair, grabbed the remote and ignored your mate, and your family - not one word, grunt, nod, nothing. Don't thank your mate or your family for anything - not one word. You go to sleep, wake in the morning, go through the house, on your routine, never even speaking to your spouse, then you leave the home, and drive off without a word.
Repeat this every day for who knows how long, and tell me, how long would this go on without causing a serious problem in your maraige/family relationship?

Some of us do this to God, I know I sure have, did it for years. I have regrets, all the wasted time...

Think about your blessings, count them up. Even the slightest little things, the things that we all take for granted. Don't have a long list yet? Alright, then, grab the remote and checkout CNN, or Fox News Network, and start adding to that list of things the God of heaven has blessed you with. Watch those news programs, and try to put yourself into the shoes of the multitude of unfortunate humans that have literally "lost it all".

Learn from this tradgedy, not to ignore God. Be prayerful every day, and patch up your broken relationship with Him, be thankful, and give Him praise for all he has given you. Pray for those children in the storm's path, because they are having things rough. Remember, none of us chose our parents. Remember when you pray, all those people, and the countless volunteers and care givers that are helping in the storm ravaged southeast.

Don't wait for a disaster to call on God. Draw close to Him now, and stay close, 'cause your time is coming. Remember this too, in each of our personal lives, we are either in a crisis, just coming out of one, or heading directly into one.

Matthew 4:4 ..for it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:16 .. The people which sat in darknesssaw a great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. :17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say "repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand".

See y'all at Shooting Creek! Be blessed! JEFF

Excellent report from Shooting Creek, North Carolina...

The Service went well, and there were 25 in attendance Sunday morning at 9:30 am. I gave out 17 copies ot the New Tesament. I saw some new Faithful in the group, and to you I say welcome.

The trial had a lower than usual amount of riders show up, although I did not see the results yet to count entries, so I am just going by looking around the parking area.

Brock's venue is so beautiful, nestled into the southern Appalacians. Those of us that camped for the weekend stacked up along the creek. Brock is a great host, and posted the T.F.C. Service time prominently on the flyer, I am most grateful to the promoters that do this for us. Thank you for your constant support at the event Services. See y'all at the 58k! And, as always, be blessed!
