Also, the starting time for the "service" is now 8:30 am, instead of 8:45. I will stick to this time, regardless of which time zone the event is hosted in.
It's alright to come by late, but try to be punctual, since we only have 15 minutes to work with...

First of all, I'm continuously amazed at the support that the Trials for Christ service receives at the modern events. This past weekend at Sequatchie, the first person arrived for the service at 8:25, and by 8:30 there were nearly 40 of you there! Even though I changed the time we meet, you were on time. How pleased God must have been with us.

You continue give me a blessing with your attention and support. Also, the positve comments you give keep me going, and help me strive to serve Him as your chapter leader. I pray that you are getting as much from our services as I am, and please remember to lift the T.F.C., and our members in your daily prayer.

We had a record number Sunday at the 58k... y'all totaled 41. May God bless you, keep praying, till we meet again...

I'm going to try something new at the T.F.C. service at Gadsden Sunday the 16th. We will have mostly music, with a very short bible study... I look forward to sharing some very special music with you. See y'all at the Deal's place. Remember, we will once again be on Central Standard time. Wink

We have had a terrific year! Last Sunday at round #12 at Gadsden, we had a song service, and Trevor assisted with bible verses printed on poster board that he displayed during the songs.
There were 20 faithful in attendance.

I would like to share an interesting statistic with y'all... since the beginning of the season way back in April at the Shooting creek 2-day, when we had our inagural service, 193 have been to Trials for Christ services.

Please respond to this thread if you are willing to do your best to attend every service next season. Post your name, and indicate your willingness to be faithful to the Trials for Christ services, if you are at the events.
I believe that we could break 300 next season with everyone pulling together. Remember that the starting time is 8:30 am in the host event's time zone, due to the fact I'm now "minder" for my grandson Trevor in the youth trials program.

May God bless you and your families this holiday season, I love all of you and pray for you often. Please remember the faithful in your prayers... ther are some in our group that are going through extreme personal tribulation. Pray that God will prevail in the lives of these men and thier families.

One more time, thank you so very much for your attendance and prayers. You bless my soul. Lookin' forward to next season! JEFF

Thank you both for your commitment, and your willingness to post on the site your support for the T.F.C. ministry. I'm lookin' forward to next season, and hopefully sometime next year God will place a burden on someone's heart to be an assistant, to back me up in case of accident or illness. I'll say it again, this is not my ministry, but our ministry. Please communicate any ideas or suggestions for change, or if you like the direction we are on now, let me know, if not directly, then by your continued attendance at the services. God bless one and all!

Also , congratulations to ...

Let's remember "the reason for the season" as we celebrate Christmas this year.

Matthew 1:21 And she(the virgin Mary) shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from thier sins.

and...
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Remeber one another in prayer this Christmas, and may God bless you and yours...

Hope and pray y'all had a great and spiritual Christmas!

Mine was a bit unusual this year. I was admitted to the local hospital on Tuesday the 23rd. Went for a Dr.'s appointment, and he determined I had pneumonia. The Dr.'s office I use is attathed to the hospital,so the nurse sat me in a wheelchair and the next stop was room 310.
I had oxogen, breathing treatments (nebulizer) resperitory therapys night and day, and handfuls of pills. I was released yesterday afternoon. Still can't go outside for several more days.
Anyway, the point is, I had many hours to dwell on the reason for the season. God brought me peace in that room, and although I was removed from family and friends, I'm thankful that God's son willingly was born into this world,on that Christmas day so long ago, to face certain death, so that you and I could have a way to forgivness of sin, and a place in paradise forever if we only accept and believe in what He did & said in His lifetime.

The subject for the T.F.C. Service at round 1 will be the first couple of chapters of Jonah. So if you have time between now and then, read over the verses... God bless y'all, and happy new year.

1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
4 But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.
6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
8 Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?
9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.
10 Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him. Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.
12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.
14 Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.
15 So they look up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.
17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

Our service was well attended at round 1 in Cartersville. We got a late start, along with the youth trial and the main event. The mercury was saying 20 degrees at 7:00 Sunday morning. The property owner allowed us to meet in his heated basement, and he even joined us! (thank you Bert) We had 28 faithful in attendance.

We're takin' it on the road next month, all the way down to Mississippi. Clint put us on the flyer, first promoter to do that! The topic of the service will be the 18th chapter of Matthew, so read up if you get a chance, especially the 21st verse, and also the special warning in the 35th verse, in the very words of Jesus.

Take a minute to check the T.F.C. web site, and maybe the S.T.R.A. Chapter faithful can liven that message board up a bit (HINTHINT). Link-up at http://www.trials4christ.com Click on forum

If you can't make the trial, pray for the service, and your fellow T.F.C. members. See ya', JEFF

Hey, Chad...

Thank you for the kind words on the T.F.C. web site.

More important, your brief testimony was uplifting to read, and your suggestion deserves an amen, brother!

Thanks too for taking a minute to post on that site, I'm amazed that so few people take time to reply to the subjects there, but can find plenty of time to reply to the secular boards that are available. I'm always bragging on y'all, either on the T.F.C. board, or at church, or anywhere. All you guys are like family to me, and I'm very grateful for your support and attendance at the meets. I see your faces in my mind every morning when I pray, and always ask His will in your lives. But reading a testimonial is a huge motivator for me, and I pray you are blessed for it. Wink

And this is something to think about as well... as far as I can tell, we (us) are the only chapter right now in the whole world that meet regularly. The Texas chapter is, well, I don't know. No information.

The founder of Trials for Christ is down in Florida, in F.T.A. country, but there again, no word, but in these cases I'm thinkin' no news is bad news.

A believer in northern Colorado has expressed interest in starting a chapter there, and I think we could do more to encourage Judson.

Anyway, know that the S.T.R.A. Chapter is keeping the mission alive... so I challenge us to put some life into this ministry! Get on that board, and let 'em know we mean business!
