I have a friend who has been bitten by "the BUG" and I am trying to help him find a bike. Just wondering if anybody knows of a cheap (1500-1800ish range)bike for sale that may not be listed anywhere or have an oldder modern bike sitting in the garage that you might be willing to part with ... let me know . Thanks Tim , I have contacted him and it is still around. My buddy is thinking that a 200 may not be enough bike for him , I am trying to convince him that its perfect for a beginner trials bike , but we'll see. Chad

i've got a 99 270 gas gas sitting in my garage. pretty much all parts here somewhere. the motor needs rebuilding and my cousin decided not to ride anymore. you could probably make an offer of 500 and he would take it.
talk to charlie at TTC and see what a complete engine rebuild would cost maybe it's worth it

sounds like a possibility for sure !!, do we know what is wrong with the motor ? Chad

basically from what i know about the motors on the gas gas you need to replace the cylinder , piston , rings, bearings. the cylinder cannot be bored but needs replacing. my personal thought is the head may be bad as well since the heat was really high.
if i was doing it i would replace the crank bearings and seals. without going into it myself i'm not sure what it really needs.
i pulled the top end off to get an idea for you and this is my thoughts on it
i would ask about what the cost is for a total rebuild and make a guess at worst case. if the parts bill fits your budget make an offer on the bike, i'm pretty sure we can make a deal.

Bought it about 8 months ago, but just not interested in trials. It is ready to go and I need it gone as I have already bought another bike.
