Hi folks,
I threw together a quick site to help with results, flyers, and the 2008 schedule. Please feel free to give me some feed back.
This is temporary until we get some bugs worked out.

Thanks,
Brian

Looks good Brian! Good work.

Hopefully you will have good luck in your ability to get event results from the promotors (or somebody else) so the results can be posted quicker than in the past.

Thanks for your efforts!

Thanks Harry,
I'm going to just post the results a couple weeks before the event, I figure lots of folks will give me input into correcting the results that way. Big Grin
As a matter of fact, I'll put you down in first place Adavanced for the Track Rock Event!

Brian, I will be observing both days at Trackrock. You can put me down for First Place in Intermediate, if it's not aleady spoken for.

Harry, I'm with Frank.
There's no way you made the big double step with the undercut!

It looks really "Sweet!".
Neat sections everywhere, all within walking distance(and not up a bluff) of the parking area.
It may be the most spectator friendly event on the schedule.
The sections are not crazy but still challenging. It looks like a lot of fun!

I heard talk of a Enduro Bike class, with $50 to the best score. Should they ride the Int line?

Paul, when I ran an Enduro Class, what we did was used some straight forward obstacles (logs etc) and then gave them some big wide turn areas outside the "normal" class lines.

This let them get around the sections without "tearing up" the lines and causing problems.

We set them up with a "minder" Doug Mc, who took them around all the sections, they started earlier and after two loops they were all done.

There were some impressive (and scary as a promoter) crashes.

We sent out 2000 plus flyers to everyone on the Mid South Hare Scrambles series mailing list (I had an angel pick up the tab on that one to help promote the sport)

We had I think it was 4 riders. One dropped at section one if I remember correctly, one dropped after a loop, and I think the other two went both loops.

It was fun all in all, and something worth trying as I firmly believe that more riders will come from that area then any other particular area, they already understand the costs etc involved. I think Ed said "they have Boots and Helmets already".

I wrote quite a bit about it either here or on TC or maybe TA at the time? It should be in the archives if you desire to see what we did to attempt it, and hopefully improve upon it.

An enduro bike class is a good opportunity for new riders to venture into trials & maybe catch the bug. I too added an enduro class on a vintage event we did years back. For that event it took it from a money looser to a break even event dollar wise. And it opens up the opportunity to sell some trials bikes for those who have them to get rid of. But expect few to show, put little work into the addition of the class (but yes, big wide turns), advertise with flyers @ local bike shops & on free internet forums (no cost ways of advertising), and whoever shows is icing on the cake as it increases rider count & can make the event more profitable. It is funny to see the hyped up MX guys in a hurry as they race to finish the event. Anyway, just my 2 cents for whatever its worth.

I think an enduro bike class is a good idea but not more splits. What I'd like to see more is an endurocross track built at a permanent venue like TTC. It would be fun to mix up the enduro and trials bikes. I had that experience recently at Highland Park on the 5 diamond trails. The MX guys would be struggling on the hills and I would zip by them on my trials bike. I always try to do some endurocross type stuff when I go riding because going slow all the time gets boring. I have a track in Jonesboro if anybody wants to race!

Hi, David -

I have extant plans to build what I refer to as a "Trialscross" or "TX" track at my farm this spring and summer, in which there are to be about 10 graduated physical challenges over a closed circuit with gaps in between. Speed and clean precision will be measured, much like the televised "Kickstart" trials races in Britain from days of yore . Everyone is invited to come up and play, hopefully by September.

My place is 20 minutes northwest of Trackrock.

Take along your digital camera, and snap a pic of the leader board, or the results sheet that the promoter prints out, then you can look at it all you need.
