Will Ibsen Retires-------

2010 National #3 Will Ibsen has officially announced his retirement from the Pro class to pursue study and summer work/study programs in Auburn Universities' mechanical engineering program where he is currently enrolled as a sophomore. Will was the 2005 Youth National Champion, and has ridden the Pro class since 2007, finishing the 2008 season as National #3 Outdoor, and #2 Indoor, and competed as a two-time Trials des Nations team member.

Will commented that "It was a tough decision, since some of the best memories of my life so far have been associated with trials, but I really need to concentrate on my career, and unfortunately, I won't be able to dedicate enough practice time necessary to stay competitive in the Pro class. I'm still keeping my Gas Gas TXT Pro 300 to play on, and I may, someday after I graduate from Auburn, return to national trials at some level."

Will added "I'd like to give special thanks to Dale Malasek of Gas Gas USA for his wholehearted, untiring, and generous support and encouragement, also to Brad Baumert and Ryan Young for their constant support and friendship, to Chad Kimbrell, Brock Sattelmeier, and my Dad for being superb minders, as well as to Adrian and Mandy Lewis of Lewisport, Dan Brown and Catherine Bedley of the Trials Training Center, Jeff Weiner of Alpinestars, Vince at V-Mar, Shan Moore of Trials Competition and Cycle News, Ed Coughlin at MAV TV, Chris Florin, Ray Peters, Mike Harker, Boyd Bailey of Wisdom Hunters, Doug Colwell of Masterpiece Pools, Hank Brink of Cadence Technologies, Bill Chapman of Camp Highland, Patrick Ely of Integrity Landscape, Ron Dunn of Carpetsplus, and Glenn Osborne of Rapid Performance. These are the people and companies that helped and encouraged me along the way, and without whom I would have not been able to compete at the Pro level. And thanks to the STRA folks that helped me to train and play in this great sport for the past 15 years."
