A mutal friend of mine and Rick's e-mailed me on Monday to let me know that Rick has had a serious motorcycle accident. I do not know the cause of the accident. The e-mails that I received are as follows:

First e-mail reads as follows:
"All,

Reporting that Rick Welton was in a serious motorcycle accident Sunday morning. He is at Grady Hospital recovering from leg surgery. Other problems are broken collar bone, lost teeth and broken back, but no paralysis. As first note, doctor stated possible three months of recovery. Please keep Rick in your thoughts and I will advise as I learn more."


Second e-mail reads as follows:
"The latest news is worse than originally reported. We've been told he's in a full body cast at Grady's ICU with a broken neck & back (luckily no reported paralysis), broken ribs, broken collarbone, reconstructed leg & ankle (I don't know which leg), facial abrasions, and missing teeth. The lady giving the updates says, as far as can be determined, he was riding alone, but didn't hit another vehicle or roadside object and his motorcycle broke in half during the accident, but Rick can't remember anything about the accident."

I will keep you updated as I hear and if any of Rick's riding buddies hear sooner, please keep us posted.
In the meantime, please keep Rick in your thoughts and prayers.
