Does anyone out there know how my 2002 Sherco 2.9s rear suspension should be set up? What the sag should be or anyother info.? I just changed the fork oil today to 10W and have no idea if the front or back are like they should be, just trying to get them right for my 215 lb. weight. Any ideas or comments would be welcomed.

Thanks

Not sure if you have seen the Sherco manual set on RYP's website yet, but well worth checking out.

www.rypusa.com

There are 3 rear springs available for your bike, you might consider going to the Red (heavy) spring. I would expect you to have a Yellow (standard) on the bike now. They are easily available through TTC or direct from RYP.

I believe I have a suspension Sag setup manual from Mr. Ibsen that never made it onto the web as well that can give you some more baseline info.

Cleaned, serviced and greased and the suspensions work real well. There are some variations of delta links available if you are a tinkerer as well as other shocks with adjustments etc. But most folks find that if you have everything working as intended, it is quite good stock.

It seems to work O.K. I was just checking to see if there was anything that I could do to optimize the suspension. I rode an '04 Sherco yesterday that had slightly better performing rear suspension. Nothing major just slightly easier to go over some things.

There are some slight tweaks between the years that some folks liked, and some did not.

They changed swingarm lengths (a little) between 02 and 03, and I believe they changed the Delta link between 03 and 04.

I believe that you can mix and match between the various componentry to get your desired ride (if it is worth the expense to you)

Ryan is the man when it comes to what the differences were.

The guy that owned mine originally switched the shock to an '03 rear shock. I'm not sure why, he thought it was a better shock for his needs. He lived in the same area as RYP.
