I need a recommendation for an adhesive sealant.

The oil sight glass, located in the clutch cover, on my '03 suzuki DRZ250 cracked and I replaced it with a new one. It's a press fit into the cover from the inside. I used Yama bond as an adhesive sealer but the sight glass came out in less than 20 miles of use. Luckily it found refuge under the clutch and was not chewed up and distributed through out the engine! (ala Harley twin cam)

Any recommendations for an adhesive sealant that can withstand heat and synthetic oil?? If you're going to Miss. we can talk there; otherwise I will check for posts on my return.

Thanks,
John

I'd suspect the problem is in the cleaning end of the process. What did you do to clean the surfaces before you applied the Yama bond? But, I'm just guessing. Good luck!

John, I was thinking that the Yama Bond stuff never really dries or hardens.

I agree with both of you.

JB weld is being given the opportunity to excel at this time.
