Yep, Its another harescramble/enduro guy thats knocked off way to much bark. My shoulders have had enough for awhile. The last tree I brushed, a mental picture of a Trials bike came into mind.
Then the other day , Low and behold, a guy needed a bronco top that I had and wanted to trade a mint 1973 Honda TL 125 for the bronco top. So how could I resist, Was it Fate and just meant to be ? Or did Santa finally remember the bike I begged for back in 73' ? Maybe a little of both.
But any way here I am. I live in Milledgeville,GA - 46yrs old and I'm looking for anybody or trying to find some people close by thats riding vintage or modern. Any of you guys ride at Durhamtown ? I've seen a couple of modern trials out on the trails but when I get a chance to stop and check ya'll out you just disappear. I've been reading some of the posts and noticed most everybody lives around atlanta, N.Ga, or west Ga, Was there a ban on trials in Middle ga that I didn't get the memo on ? Let me know if your close by, I've got land we could use, or I know Mike at Durhamtown pretty good - Distant cousin - And he would probably be glad to set up a section/Area. I noticed that some of the red trails there would make some good trials sections, plenty of rocks /logs, creeks etc....

Let me hear from ya if I can join a ride with U'ins and get a feel for what its all about.

HEY! Someone from the Middle Ga. area!
I'm in Macon and have been riding trials on and off since the '70s. Another guy lives in Byron and has land in Roberta that we use to put on STRA events several years ago.
Unfortunatly, I can't get out and ride much anymore but still have a modern and vintage bike. I can ride in my back yard (very little)
and James and I have recently talked about riding again at Roberta?
I doubt that I'll have a free weekend to ride any time soon,,,,,
At one point we had 5 active riders in the area,
now they have just about stopped for one reason or another.
I think there is also a guy in the military at Robins AFB that rides trials, we have never been able to get together either, but nice to hear of a new "trials rider". Great fun if you can ride,,,,,
TTC is THE place to go for much fun, plan on a weekend, Dan would be glad to see ya.

P.S. Don't ride a modern trials bike,,,you'll be
wanting one BAD!

Thanks for the welcome Mick.

I'm in Milledgeville. Plenty of places to ride over here.
I talked to a guy that worked for Barney A Smith that was a mechanic there a few years ago. Would that be you ? or do you know who I'm talking about ?
I get with you on your regular email. I'm pretty tight on time to ride also, but theres a Rock crawling place here on the river. I think I could get us a pass to ride there when their not having an event I think.
Glade to see theres someone close by though.
I was already wanting a modern bike, The vintage bike just kinda fell in my lap.
I'm used to riding a KTM 400 , So riding the 125 is a little funny feeling.
I'll be get'n with you to work up a ride.
Have ya'll ever been to Rocky Creek in Culloden ?
Later

The guy you met was Ronald Evans, he's also kinda
dropped off the map. He still has a bike.
I've talked to him a few times and he works
2 jobs,,,,,,,,no time either.
Send me an email at "trialsmm@hotmail.com" your
phone number and I'll do the same.
Maybe one day we can all get together?

Hello Phillip. I live in Conyers which is not to far from you and we have five of six STRA members here, both mod and vintage. I also started out trials on the TL and it helped me alot to learn the basics which I have since forgotten. I still own the bike but have restored it and do not use it for competition. I have an 06 Beta for that, but trials is a great outlet for us old guys and the people in our club are the best. My phone is 770-788-0937 so give me a call so I can come ride at your area. Thanks, Jamie.
