I am ready to step up to the plate and get a new trials bike. I have a bunch of Greeves and Cotton trials bikes and used to the old style stuff. I was split between the Montesa and the Gas Gas. Any comments on which bike may be better for me. My skills are in the average range.

All the bikes are good. It is down (in my opinion) to Nuances and personal preference at this point.

Come out to the Trials Training Days and you will have the opportunity to try them out side by side to help you make a determination.

Just beware, Steve. Modern trials bikes can be down right dangerous compared to the old iorn you own now. The power delivery can be explosive.

Thanks for the info. I hear that the Gas Gas 300 power delivery is a little smoother than some of the other bikes. I tend to ride a little faster than the other vintage trials guys. Old English style I guess as the Cotton I have is a little peaky compaired to the Sherpa T's and Yamaha TY bikes. I think going to school would be a good way to start. I realy like the way the new bikes look and having just bought a VOR 530 as the most modern bike in my stable. I though a new trials bike would be nice. Thaks for the input.

You might want to try the new Scorpa SY125 four-stroke. It's light-weight, runs great, and is really all someone needs that isn't going to run the Champ line. Bob Ginder, Dustin Ginder, and Clint Wilson all have one. The little 4-stroke goes pretty much everywhere and is perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike. Dustin rode his in the Expert class at Clint's this past weekend and took 1st. Both Bob & Dustin will be at the NATC nationals in April at Sequatchie and would be happy to let you try either of them. They both have the 143cc big bore kit and an upgraded clutch package. For more info on the 4-stroker, check out bjracing.com's "Today's Victim" page; more info will be posted this coming week.

i think not to worry about too much power, once you get used too the bike you will be a much better rider.you`ll just have to take it slowly in the beginning.
