If we can have some stra trials closer to south carolina i may attend some. But i'm not driving 3+ hours juts to ride a trials. I have a perfect practice area. Gordon has said he may can get Kings Mountain going again. I hope so!!!

you guys put on an STRA event at Kings mountain and I'll gladly drive 3+ hours to ride it.

Short of that, organize a local series of small events like the Chattanooga club has done, just for fun and with peer scoring. This will encourage more local riders to participate and you'll have plenty of help and enthusiasm when you're ready to host a regional event.

It seems like most of the time the most improved rider is the young up and comer thats riding up thru the classes. Let's not forget the rider thats hung in a tough class, started at the bottom and has worked his way up to be a contender for 1st. I might be a little biased but my vote will go to Rooster Killian. Mark.

I agree Chad,
We didn't make it to enough events this year to have a vote IMHO.

I know that I haven't been here for half the year but since I have been gone Sara Patton has improved greatly! I know how to step up my game so she doesn't beat me Big Grin. So Sara Patton gets my vote. Smile

I vote Karl Davis Jr.
Watching him throw his bike with reckless abandon, makes me wish I still had the desire to do that. And he picks it up and heads for the next section, sometimes he talks it over with his bike. And by the next section his bike is over it! Good recovery!

I would like to nominate Brian Sloggy for most improved rider. That old f**t has improved a bunch this season. Here’s the logic:

Last year Brian and I both rode the Sportsman class and switched to the Advanced class this year. We both rode all but the two events we worked, as all good pilgrims should. If my calculations are correct, with all scores added, Brian has one more point than me and with the castaways out (50% +1) he has a few more than me. Even though we were battling to “not be last” at the events, he finished ahead of me more than I finished ahead of him. Good thing Jeff showed up sometimes, too (Gotta welcome the Florida riders).

Stay with me now, here is where it gets complicated! Last season in the Sportsman class I basically “cleaned the old guys clock”. Since last season to now I have improved more than I can even believe (self proclaimed improvement). I still have my fair share of 5s and drag by bike through for a 3 occasionally, but the honest 3s are much more common and I can actually clean an Advanced section once in a while, with some 1s and 2s in the mix too. So, if I have improved that much and Brian is ahead of me, that means he improved more than I did.

Brian, you Da Man!!

Frank

P.S. Just wait till Next Year when the term “Splatter” actually becomes a technique and not the sound of my body when it his the ground. (Section #7 Sunday at TTC).

My vote also goes to Rooster. Working on this years standings & comparing them to last years, Rooster really has stepped up his game!
