Unfortunately Wendy and I won’t be attending the banquet and Sunday trial. Anyhow, wanted to ask someone to present a proposed rule change at the business meeting regarding womens class. Briefly, the change would be that “women’s class” ride the intermediate line rather than the novice line. Reasons: 1) While novice class is good introductory class, riders skills, including women, quickly move beyond the challenges presented in the novice class. 2) Novice class is sparsely competed, thus beginning women could find success competing in the novice class without being segregated from the men. 3) Intermediate class has many competitors with the skill jump from novice to the skill of those competing to win the intermediate class being considerably large. Thus there seems to be a need to present a separate class for women so that their skills could be challenged with hope of winning or placing well in a class without needing to make the large skill jump to intermediate and competing directly against the men. This rule change has been discussed with other women competitors and they seem agreeable but they should feel free to make their arguments known if they are not in agreement with the proposed change. Thanks for considering this if the opportunity is made. | ||
