Just got back from the Macon Freestyle MX show, the best part (to me) was Geoff Aaron was the 1/2 time show! He put on two parts of his demo.
Everyone seemed impressed. Like I told my wife, I bet if you took a poll; 99% of the crown would rather be doing the jumps and backflips than riding a trials bike,,,,,,,,
Anyway, it was a good show, it's all good!
I was sitting behind Matt Walker (MX'er), Since he is retired? I told him he should make at trip up to TTC and rent and ride a trials bike one weekend,,,,,,,,well maybe?

i saw the same show in new orleans, funny thing is jeff got more crowd approval than most of the mx'ers, the only guy to get the crowd worked up more was the guy doing back filps. out of 10 or so mx guy's only one could do a back flip. jeff was doing long nose wheelies and they seemed to like that.
i had really bad seats but it was a fun night out and unexpected to see geoff

Geoff got much crowd support, they were all impressed,,,,,,2 MX guys did back flips out of 9 riders.

Geoff is really the best thing U.S. trials has going! In addition to his record number of national titles and victories, AMA rider of the year awards, videos, demos, etc., he also competes in such high-profile events like the Enduro-cross and Last Man Standing. The latest Racer-X magazine has Geoff’s account of the Last Man Standing where only 2 riders officially finished the event: winner David Knight (a guy with a solid trials background) and Wayne Braybrook (who still is a top trials rider across the pond).

Geoff is great, but during his show, when he has
a chance (after he promotes www.ere.com), it would be good to to hear him say," if there's anyone out there interested in motorcycle trials, do a internet search and find out all about the trials sport!" "or see me after the show!"

When I saw Tommi Ahvala's demo in Atlanta in 2000, he had some STRA newsletters available. I talked to him after one of his rides (he did several each day of the big motorcycle show) and he recommended TTC. I still have that old newsletter. Gotta love the staying power of paper, even in an electronic age. A simple flyer would be adequate. Just need to give folks some basic info and contacts to help them get started in the sport.

The Last Man Standing from Texas was grueling to watch!
David Knight, at 6'4" and riding a KTM 200 had the advantage from the start! They mentioned that his 'trials' background helped him ride the obsticles!
Most of the riders were on 2-stroke KTMs! The heavy 4-strokes were at a disadvantage.
Our own Georgian, Russ Bobbitt made it to the 2nd round!
