Set aside Saturday Jan 17 as the date for the business meeting followed by the awards banquet. Date is not 100% solid at this time, so watch this space for further details. Location is Cartersville (same as the last couple of years). Meeting site is being researched and will be communicated soon.

Thanks, Brock. I'm looking forward to the banquet as my first event of 2009. Also, thanks in advance to the vendors who generously support us with door prizes.

After some comments that the food was not up to par at the last banquet, Jeff Geisen has tirelessly been checking out alternative venues in Cartersville (thanks Jeff!) and came up with better food and a free meeting room at BBQ Street. Here are the particulars and directions...
The address is 650 Henderson Drive, Cartersville, Ga. 30120
Exit 288 off I-75 Main St. / Ga. Hwy 113, west on 113 through downtown Cartersville. Left at 8th traffic signal onto Henderson Drive (across from Ingle's grocery) and BBQ Street is on the left.
770 386-5166
I'll follow up with times and more as the date draws closer.

The 17th is MLK long weekend for everyone and in direct conflict with many events... any chance of another date? I think you will have a better turnout on different Sat.

From the "We aim to please" department, we are working to change the business meeting/banquet date from Jan 17 to Jan 31. Once we have the banquet room reservation confirmed I will update the information here.

Jeff delivers the goods once again. The business meeting and banquet date is now officially set for Jan 31. The banquet is set to start at 6 PM. Business meeting times to follow.

... we have access for guests once again at the property Ian leases east of Cartersville off of Ga. Hwy 20. Although the western part of the property is bisected by paved streets, there is still plenty of area to ride on the top of the ridge. That being said, y'all are welcome to ride there either Saturday or Sunday of the business meeting/banquet weekend. Also, I live not five minutes from BBQ Street, and have quite a practice area on my property if you don't mind artificial obstacles if you would rather ride near the meeting location.
Just been thinking, howabout some kind of a very laid back event, with the donations going to the STRA 09 season. Maybe Sunday afternoon. No points, no tap, no lines, just go ridebut not with Dan Brown!!) and just try to beat your buds, in your group. Will be fun, and good for the STRA!!

Sorry, I was thinking out loud, Ian's property, Sunday afternoon, the day after the Banquet. If that is O.K. with Ian. Looks like we are back in business in C'Ville! For the ones that have never riden in C"Ville, you are in for a blast. It will spoil you for riding rocks anywhere else, and the hospitality, of the Geisens is second to none!!

Y'all are welcome to ride Sunday following the banquet(at Ian's Hwy 20 property), or the Saturday morning before the business meeting (at my place near the banquet/biz meeting location), I would love to join you. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jeff Geisen,
Gentlemen, Thanks for changing the Banquet date away from the the MLK long weekend. Ride days on Banquet Sat.and Sunday (Feb 1st) sound like a great attraction and a way to stretch during the winter blues. Who knows, just like Trackrock '08... Maybe we might even see a little snow!
