Lee, I am sorry I blasted you. I didn't know who I was posting to until I checked your profile. I thought you were just some yahoo. You certainly were at the business meeting and have been a contributing member of the STRA for a number of years as is your dad. I am sorry you feel the way you do about the club. This year's vintage schedule is very different from previous ones. There are only 4 STRA rounds (that pay ITSA points) and the rest are ITSA events that pay STRA points. Even many of the hard core vintage riders who seriosly contested the vintage championships,no longer ride vintage events or if they do, they bring their modern bike instead. It may be time for the membership to consider whether it is better to continue the current format or just adopt a format where we have STRA events with modern and vintage classes competing for points on the same day. This would allow us to expand the series from 12 rounds to 16 or more. I don't remember what the awards were last year but typically they are very nice stone or solid wood plaques. Maybe the bank account was low last year. We did not take any money from the national in 2005 and there were no proceeds from the world round in 2006. The " marketing" supplies I mentioned were actually MARKING supplies which include ribbon and signs. There is no intentional slighting of vintage events going on here. The problem is that no vintage promoters (with the exception of the Whooping Creek event)are sending in results. I hope you decide to renew your membership next year. I told your dad at the Whooping Creek event that it was nice to see you back after being away for so long. But if you decide not to, you are always welcomed back if you change your mind.

Lee, If I said anything to offend you I apologize! It sounds as though you are already doing more than your share as an active member! Thank You, for working an event I may have ridden! I thought that the joint effort with ITSA was intended to save the dwindling STRA vintage turnout. Is there another approach you can think of that would perhaps increase the numbers? Designate a Line as vintage at the modern events? Include the Itsa events in the vintage scoring along with scores from vintage classes at the modern events. Let the season awards be based on the best scores from XX # of events. That way you don't have to go to all. Require all riders to compete on a vintage bike at one event to be considered for the overall! Yeah! That should do it! I keep thinking I'll get off my lazy kester and finish my TY175. I look forward to riding with you Lee.

The STRA also gave out custom polished metal number plates at the awards banquet with name and class.
