A friend of mine runs a HOnda shop here and showed me a picture of a new Honda TL 250. He said as far as he knows their only available over sea's. He did'nt know if they would be available here or not. Does anyone know anything different. ? The pic he showed me sure looked like a sweet bike.

Are you sure it wasn't an RTL 250?
If so it's the same bike as the Montesa, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I saw a picture of the bike in an article about Mitani. The son of a Popular Japanese rider? The bike is built in japan for japan only. They probably charge an outragous import tarriff, so honda manufactures them for their market. In the article it said that you had to have a certain level of performance (As a business) to be allowed to sell them.
The article said it was the same bike availible elsewhere.

Here is a link to the actual bike, a very difficult to find and even more difficult to read website from HRC Japan.

The neat thing about the Honda is that it comes with the full 260cc capacity. The Montesa is a 250 and the 260 kit (expen$ive) really brings the motor to life for the upper class riders. (Previous year models of the Honda and Montesa were both 250s.)

Well, in THAT case, do you think I should upgrade from my 4rt, Brock? After all, I AM going from Novice to Intermediate this year.

If you choose NOT to upgrade, then you will have a great excuse: just blame it on the bike... maybe SOMEONE will believe you...

You make a good point, Brock -

Therefore, I will plan to ride Olivia's Honda CRF70 trials special this year and move directly to Sportsman.

Talkin' to someone who knows I found out that the Honda RTL is made at Montesa factory in Spain. Then they ship 'em to Japan. Same bike basically as the Montesa with a few different specs.
