With the amount of work put in this year on the Cornelia event by Henry , John Wayne and all the crew in Cornelia as well as Vaughn and Gary clearing eight new sections I am sorry to report we only had 38 and 39 riders for the two days. The road into the property was the best it has ever been and the weather was perfect so I sometimes wonder where half the STRA is when we have our event each year. Is there anything else we can do to improve the turnout? Let me know any ideas you may have. I know people have other stuff to do sometimes but I really feel a local Atlanta area event should pull 60 or 70 riders easy. Now I will give you the good news. Everyone there said the event this year was perfect not only with level of difficulty but also a supper fun loop and a great overall relaxed and layed back feel. Henry and family are wonderful hosts and always make everyone feel welcome and at home. We were able to get everyone on the loop and back with no injuries and only one flat tire so I think I can say this years event was a great success. thanks to all who helped with scoring sections and giving input before the event each day to help us correct all problems. And I will say special thanks to the Thistles and the Hoovers for taking care of the Youth event on Sunday. We had no Youth sections, and were suprised with 4 Youth entries on Sunday and so Paul and Aaron took the ball and ran by setting up some great Youth sestions. Then Gary and Made started helping with the sections and scoring and they made it all happen. A real family effort so thanks to Aaron, Made, Paul and Gary for being generous with the time they could have been out praticing to give some young riders some section time. Henry told me that we can do it all again next year so Cornelia will be there for everyone in 2010. Thanks Henry! I am already looking forward to it. Thanks to all again who rode and worked. Your pal, Jamie.

Jamie -
A great trial indeed. We all three had a good time. The reason for the low turnout? One word. How do you spell it? R-E-C-E-S-S-I-O-N. I bet there will be better participation numbers next year. Thanks again for an enjoyable event. Drew |

Jamie and crew, Wow. What a great trials! If you were trying to lay out a trials to suit my trials strengths, I thank you! Aaron and I had a great time. I think this may be the first stra trials where aaron felt like sportsman was the right class for him. He had not cranked his bike since the youth nationals. It may be the most relaxed he has ever ridden. All due to the great sections, loop and checkers.
We do need to come up with a system of effective trials promotion for STRA events. |

Jamie,
Sorry to hear about the low turnout. Your event has always been one of my favorites, mainly because it's in Ga! Even though I didn't make it this year, I was wishing I was up there rideing both days instead of tending to house chores. that's my excuss,,,,,,,, Mickey Meade Macon,Ga. 2002 Sherco 125 '70 Honda SL175 '89 Honda NX250 |

Sorry I didn't make it out to your event ... Sometimes life interferes with Trials ): But I did get my youngest son's Whitehawk TY80 replica worked on and ridden some more ... Check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kHEd3pwEx8 Now his legs just have to grow a bit to really ride it ! Glenn |

Jamie, I rode with you at the MTR event in Monroe. We had a club meeting over the weekend and several people discussed coming to your event for next year. It is one of the few STRA events that are less than 8 hrs drive for most of us. Would you be willing to let us co-host the event next year since some of the property that we had counted on didn't work out. This way MTR members would show up for points for our club and add to your turn out as well as the number of events we can offer next year as well.
Someone else had mentioned the possibility of co-hosting the event you guys sometimes hold in the NC mountains. I think it's Broc Sattemeier's event but I always get his name wrong so that might not be accurate. Get in touch with me or Jim McKenzie if this will work for you. Either way I plan on coming to your event;-) Keith Bell 919-454-1060 |
