The Florida Trials Association's FIS is 1 month away and we are preparing to have an excellent event for our traveling and local friends! There will be primitive camping on the site and Ryan Young has committed to being there with his rigs and bevy of riders. There won't be a food concession, but in Webster Marc Waller's family has a restaurant in town called the Hayseed Café in Webster, which is less than 15 minutes away from the trials site, and offers plenty of fine down-home southern cooking, and three meals a day. It is located on the Main Drag just east of 471.

Hotels are available at Exit 314 in Bushnell. There is one called Microtel (Telephone No. 352-568-2111 for $63 for AARP and AAA members, or you can stop at a Waffle House and pick up the Traveler’s Discount Guide and there is a coupon for $59; or if you prefer, there is a Best Western (Telephone No. 352-793-5010) for $57.60 a night. In both cases, we have reserved a block of 10 rooms at each location. You need to make sure you mentioned the FTA or Florida Trials Association to get the special rate. The Microtel wants reservations by 15 February and Best Western by 20 February 2004 if you want to guarantee a room. From these hotels, you head East on SR-48 to SR-301 and turn South for approximately ¾ of a mile, turn left over the railroad tracks onto SR-48 again and go East approximately 10 or so miles to SR-478 in Center Hill. Turn right and go approximately 1.8 miles to the site, which will be located on your right. Primitive camping is permitted at Promise Ranch, however, if anyone is interested in full electrical and water hookups, they can contact:

Bill Catogni once again is working on special hand-crafted trophies for each of the classes and has already given Kim the art work for the T-shirts, which will be sold for $15 at this special event. The cost per day to ride will be $25, Age 16 and under $5 per day. There will be no gate or spectator fee. We will be offering 12 technically challenging sections, with 3 loops each day. Just a reminder, all riders must be AMA members so make sure you bring your AMA cards. We will be offering a Youth Trials on Saturday only.

If you prefer to stay in Brooksville, the directions are as follows: Approximately 25 minutes from Croom Motorcycle Park at the intersection of I-75 and SR-50. Coming from the North or the South on I-75, take Exit 301 (SR-50). Head East on SR-50 for approximately 20 miles until you get to 471 North. Go approximately 4 miles to 478 East (then about ¼ mile past Webster Elementary School, turn right), drive approximately 5 more miles and Promise Ranch will be on the left. From the East, take SR-50 to 471 North and then follow the directions above.

Hi Rooster; the pits are at the old entrance, but in the field instead of the oak hammock(Too much mud if it rains). You will see where they are!

The FIS is two weeks away (Feb 28-29) and the section layouts are well underway! Looking to have a good variety on the sections with an influence on FUN!
