Boy and I thought my Fantic was "different" when I bought it ... But the swm's that are at my house right now are almost STRANGE...
One is almost completely assembled and with a good carb clean , fresh fuel and the correct spark plug fired up well enough to tweak the carb and ride it for a few minutes before it died again. It was to hot out to mess with any more tonight so I didn't even check why it died. That one the 82 240 needs a complete chassis and suspension refurbishing and the 81 that is here I have to reassemble to make sure it has a viable engine , it came over in box's! But I will admit that they seem to be pretty stout old bikes ! but the few minutes I spent on the 82 with it not running 100% How did they ever compete against the other bikes of the day? What a underpowered tank !!!Oh well I'll get my beta here from Oregon soon and remanufacture another one for me , so I can have a almost modern bike to!!! I'm trying to make arrangements for the 2nd to get my but to TNT. Thanks Glenn |

Glenn, I wish you and I lived closer together!
I'd love to help you rebuild those old SWM's, or Beta, whatever. I just like restoring bikes. I bought a 1981 Honda CB900 Custom last week with 5600 miles on it. been sitting in a carport since the owner got drunk & dumped it, while riding in the yard. I actually enjoy flushing brake fluid, rebuilding calipers, carbs, and stuff like that. Tony P Charlotte, NC |
